Quick Bill/Vote Form for You to Send Legislators:
It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
As I write this late at night on Resurrection week-end, I am reminded of what Jesus said when he talked to Peter before he went up to heaven:
So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”
Jesus would want us to be tending to his lambs as a show of love for Him. These precious children of today are like lambs being led to the slaughter. It is happening in a place we used to trust--in schools. Their little minds are now in the hands of planners that follow the edicts of this administration. America is being changed in the minds of her children.
It used to be said that America is good because of what goes on in her churches. When America's churches are mostly silent and or don't want to know the truth within the schools what does that tell you? Here in one of the most conservative states, we pray for a great awakening and it starts with the Body of Christ. May we honor the One who gave his all for us and listen to his command to tend to his lambs.
Who Will Tend To the Lambs??
Here are some food for thought for Alabama citizens that hopefully will take the time out of their busy schedule to send a quick note or email to their legislators regarding very important bills that will affect their children. It could make a difference, but won't if you never send one. Here's to hoping you will use above bill/vote form and act this week:
HB125 Student Longitudinal Bill --Vote NO
This is now up to the Senate--it appears there is no Senate bill version and they are set to pass the House version which is HB125.
State Representative Tim Wadsworth (R-Winston County) said, “Bill requires State when you start pre-k to be assigned a number that follows you rest of your life through schools and jobs. I am so against this bill. Privacy will no longer exist.”
HB 267 Student Privacy Bill--Vote Yes
Education, Alabama Student and Parent Privacy Act, public school student and teacher information collection and disclosure limited to academic purposes--Sounds great so please ask Terri Collins not to hold it up in her committee. Tell your legislators to support it and vote yes.
SB316 Prep Act--Vote NO
Eagle Forum of Alabama opposes the Prep Act, Senate Bill 316 by Senator Del Marsh. It was titled the Raise Act originally, and was previously connected to a State Longitudinal Database Bill. One important reason among many to oppose the Prep Act is that it will tie teacher evaluations to Common Core programs and tests. Eagle Forum of Alabama finds that the Prep Act pushes many of the same agendas as No Child Left Behind, which was a major educational failure.
Here are some interesting videos:
Food For Thought--Del Marsh Pro Tem kills Common Core Repeal-Predictable
SB 60 Repeal Common Core
on a side note SB 60 to Repeal Common Core has been killed when Del Marsh added an amendment to it.
Is there any brave enough in the House to stand up and present a bill....waiting ...waiting...but then I guess no one really wants to put up a fight for them in the House...
